Nov 14th - INTEROCEAN Agencies Ltd achieves AEO accreditation
INTEROCEAN is delighted to announce their successful accreditation with the official EU status as an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO).
In order to achieve AEO status, the company has satisfied the EU Customs Administration and the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland that it can meet and maintain :
- an appropriate record of compliance with Customs Requirements
- a satisfactory system of managing commercial and transport records which allow appropriate Customs Controls
- proven financial solvency
The main benefits of our accreditation to our customers:
- AEO's are recognised worldwide as safe, secure and compliant business partners in international trade;
- AEO's are given a lower risk score in risk analysis systems when profiling;
- If physical controls are to be conducted AEO's are given priority treatment;
- Mutual recognition of AEO programmes under Joint Customs Co-operation Agreements will result in faster movement of their goods through third country borders
- AEO's are in a stronger position to benefit from simplified procedures.
- AEO's may not be required to provide financial security for some Customs procedures, e.g. Inward Processing or Customs Warehousing.
- AEO's will find it easier to qualify for a transit guarantee waiver as gaining AEO status fulfils some of the conditions required to receive a guarantee waiver.

OWL Receives the President's "E" Award for Export Service Excellence
"Lake Success, New York - Ocean World Lines (OWL), a global, single source NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) and subsidiary of Pacer International, announced today that it has received the President's "E" Award for outstanding contribution to U.S. exports by the U.S. Department of Commerce. This is the most prestigious award given by the U.S. government to companies that facilitate export trade and contribute to U.S. job growth and competitiveness.
OWL is among an elite group of 27 U.S. companies receiving this recognition. Primary criterion for the award is four years of successive export growth, accompanied by identifiable results of programs or activities contributing to export expansion."
Needless to say, this is great publicity for the organization and a very important step forward as we continue to promote the OWL/RFI brand globally. My thanks to each of you, without whom we would not have been able to achieve this prestigious award.
